A celebration of contemporary ceramics in India
Common Ground, the second edition of the Indian Ceramics Triennale, is on view through March 31, 2024. The Triennale features over 60 Indian and international artists from 12 countries and unveils 34 projects as a celebration of diversity in contemporary ceramics.
Engaging with landscapes, identities, and histories embedded in clay, Common Ground aims for greater inclusivity, reflecting on practices mediating between precedents and practices, historical and contemporary, material and ephemeral. Seeking to create a dialogue between varied pasts and presents and between technology and tradition, this edition of the Triennale showcases these dynamic discussions through the works of world-renowned and Indian ceramic artists. Read more about the triennale and view a selection from this year's edition on Ceramics Now.

📚 Book recommendation: The Cracked Potter by Izzi Abrahmson. The book tells the story of Nava Ortlieb, who moves to The Village and establishes her pottery business. She runs afoul of and then becomes friends with Shoshana Cantor, the merchant's wife. It is a lovely and warm story inspired by the author's experience as a pottery widower.
