News from the ceramic art world
📙 The Crafts Study Centre (CSC), part of University for the Creative Arts' Farnham campus, reopened to the public last month with a landmark exhibition about the work of the celebrated and influential potter Bernard Leach. Read more.
🌎 Centro Ceramico Museo Fornace Pagliero in Castellamonte, Italy, is hosting Planetarium, a contemporary ceramics exhibition. 30 artists exhibited works made in a single format: 60 cm (23.6 in) spheres.
📍 Have a look at Theaster Gates' solo presentation with White Cube (registration needed), featuring new work specially conceived for Frieze London 2020. His works are also on view for the first time in New York, at Gagosian (see video).
🔍 Erskine, Hall & Coe (London) is currently presenting an exhibition by Sara Flynn / Galateea Gallery (Bucharest) is currently presenting Blue, a group show featuring Romanian ceramic artists / Mon Coin Studio (Athens) is presenting the group shop Ancient vibes in contemporary ceramics. / Mizuma Art Gallery (Tokyo) is presenting an exhibition by Albert Yonathan Setyawan.
🙏 The Hadlow Pottery, a pottery school for adults with learning disabilities were recently given notice to vacate the premises in less than one month. The announcement was widely shared and hopefully they'll be able to find a new place soon. Always support and stand up for your community centers, pottery schools and small businesses in general.
