Call for Applications: Ceramic Art Andenne 2025
Ceramics Now is pleased to share Ceramic Art Andenne's call for applications for the 2025 edition
Call for Applications: Ceramic Art Andenne 2025
Ceramic Art Andenne has become a not-to-be-missed event in the world of Belgian and international contemporary ceramics, and applications are currently being accepted to exhibit at the next edition of the triennale, to be held in Andenne, Belgium, from May 17 to June 15, 2025.
For the 17th International Contemporary Ceramics Competition, one of the exhibitions will be free (without a theme), and one will focus on the theme of “Talisman”. This will be your chance to explore all the mysteries, symbols and hidden powers of talismans through ceramics.
Artists are invited to submit their work using an online form on the Ceramic Art Andenne website until October 13, 2024.
In total, five prizes will be awarded:
• Three prizes awarded among the ceramists selected for the two exhibitions: Ceramics Grand Prize - €2,500, Ceramics Prize - €1,000, Young Ceramics Prize - €500.
• Two new prizes awarded by the Town of Andenne: Art Acquisition Award - €5,500, and the Public Prize - €1,000.
Last year, Nathalie Doyen (B) won the Grand Prix de la Céramique, and she will be honored with a solo exhibition in the Espace Muséal d’Andenne. This emblematic venue will also be hosting a second exhibition in collaboration with the new Ceramic Brussels fair, which takes place in January.
Ceramic Art Andenne isn’t just a competition; it’s a real artistic get-together for enthusiasts! In addition to the two exhibitions related to this international competition, you can visit seven other exhibitions in Andenne and the surrounding area. Each exhibition has its unique feature, whether it’s a guest country (Germany), a Belgian artist (Nathalie Doyen), or students from one of the country’s art schools. In addition, the Benelux members of the prestigious AIC (Académie Internationale de la Céramique) will be exhibiting in La Maison des Associations, and the prestigious Le Delta, in Namur, will be hosting an exhibition entitled “Alive & Unfolding”. The curator, Vasi Hirdo (Editor-in-Chief of Ceramics Now), will select around twenty artists from around the world for this exceptional exhibition, which will run until August 17, 2025.
This event always seeks to highlight the best of the world of ceramics. Ceramic Art Andenne also features an artist-in-residence and the resulting exhibition, as well as an international ceramics market over the Whitsun weekend (June 8-9, 2025). It’s an event that families can enjoy, too, with many activities organized for children.
